MEET THE TEAM

Michele Kasl

Design has always been Michele’s true passion, and she has been “creating” ever since she could hold a pencil. She received her BA from Kent State University’s prestigious Visual Communication Design program, and served an internship at the Akron, Ohio-based agency, Hitchcock Fleming & Associates.

After graduation, Michele went on to work as an Illustrator/Graphic Designer for Arrow International, in Cleveland, Ohio, where she was responsible for character development, concepts and advertising collateral for the company’s line of Bingo-related products. A year later, she was offered a unique opportunity to serve as Art Director for a marketing firm in Aurora, where she wore many hats as a graphic designer, account manager and freelance supervisor. Experiences at this position really piqued her interest in running her own design company. In April 2005, and with only one freelance client, she made the leap into self-employment — and hasn’t looked back since.

Michele continues to fill multiple roles at Premier Designs, as Owner, Creative Director and Lead Designer. She truly enjoys the relationships she has developed with her clients, many of whom have worked with her since the company’s inception. “That’s what sets Premier Designs apart — our commitment to our clients. We want to be partners for the long-haul, not just one or two projects.” And her reach isn’t limited to Northeast Ohio. Premier Designs works with companies across the United States, Europe and even Australia. Michele strives to keep Premier Designs ahead of other small design studios by continuously investing in education and new technology. “We want to make sure our clients know they can count on us for everything. Web, print, multimedia… We do it all, and we do it well. And you get the personal attention that you won’t receive at a large agency.”

Andy Kasl

Andy has always loved drawing and illustration, and feels very fortunate to be doing what he loves professionally for the past 14 years. He is a graduate of The Columbus College of Art and Design, with a BFA in Illustration and an Advertising minor. While at CCAD, Andy had the opportunity to serve as a Teacher’s Assistant for weekend art classes. This gave him the chance to show young artists how to take their artistic talents to a higher level.

Just one week after graduation, Andy started working for Arrow International in Cleveland, Ohio as an Illustrator/Graphic Designer. His responsibilities included: creating original characters and game themes, assisting the Marketing Department with promotional and sales materials, training new artists and providing technical support for the creative team. After nine great years with Arrow, Andy moved on to become the Art Director and Lead Illustrator for The RPI Group in Solon, Ohio. His responsibilities there included inventing and illustrating original housewares to be sold at Target, Wal-Mart, Bed Bath & Beyond, Williams-Sonoma and Linens N’ Things. He also accepted the challenges of producing schematic artwork for manufacturing in China, designing packaging, marketing and point of sale materials and product photography.

In July, 2010, Andy signed on to work with Premier Designs full-time. He now serves as Michele’s “right hand man”, managing several illustration and print design accounts, and playing an active roll in helping grow the business.

Andy enjoys any and ALL Cleveland sports, spending time with family and friends, traveling with his wife and spending the majority of his summer on the golf course.

Mike Shary

Mike Shary, owner of Direct Hits Copywriting, knows Direct Response Marketing and Copywriting inside and out. In his 29-year direct marketing career he has created dozens of control-beating Direct Mail Packages, Flyers, Letters, Brochures, Space Ads, Web-Sites, E-Mails, Auto-responders, Catalogs and more.

With a B.S. in Advertising, Mike spent the first 12 years of his career as Marketing Director for international business-to-business, and business-to-consumer direct marketing companies. For the past 17 years, Mike has focused on providing his hard-hitting, results-oriented copy to B-2-B, B-2-C, and non-profit organizations all over the world, including: Agora Publications, Michigan Bulb, Casey Research, National Collector’s Mint, Cleveland Council of Smaller Enterprises, National Alzheimer’s Council, Success Publishing, and dozens more.
